There are a few events coming up this weekend in Victoria and Vancouver that should be of interest to craft beer fans.
If you know of, or are involved with, any events that you would like to see featured here, then please shoot me an email.
BC Beer Awards – Saturday, October 15, 16:00–21:00 – Vancouver
Hosted at the Croatian Cultural Center, the 7th annual BC Beer Awards is the tent-pole event of BC Craft Beer Month. The one-day event consists of a craft beer festival featuring over 65 breweries and cideries, as well as an award ceremony hosted by CBC’s Stephen Quinn.
Apparently, 2016 has been dubbed by the craft beer community to be the “Year of the Mild Beer,” so the organizers have challenged BC Brewers to create something mild, i.e. 4% ABV or less, and still full-flavoured.
Tickets for the event were $37, but have sold out. However, there is a waitlist.
Tasting Room Day – Saturday, Oct 15, 11:00–16:00 – Victoria
The Victoria Public Market at The Hudson will be hosting a free tasting event featuring local wineries, breweries, and distilleries. The event will allow visitors to try samples of local libations and then purchase their products onsite.
