R&B Brewing to Release new Double IPA

randb_mountpleasant_doubleipaR&B Brewing has just announced that it is set to release the ninth entry in its Mount Pleasant series, being named after the area where the brewery is located. The latest release is a double IPA with am ABV of 8.8% and surprisingly low IBU of just 70.

I would be interested in trying this one out, but their beer rarely reaches Victoria.

Press release:

VANCOUVER, BC – Our new Mt. Pleasant series #9 release was inspired by autumn, and full flavoured juicy hops. The Mount Pleasant Double IPA is a complex, yet balanced India Pale Ale with a simple malt profile and deep hop aromas, brewed with Columbus, Centennial, Chinook, Vic Secret and Galaxy hops. The ale is double dry hopped to achieve hop aroma with flavours of citrus, tropical fruit, floral and resin, which gives this beer its specific flavour profile. A beer that breathes autumn… and pairs well with spicy Mexican dishes, curries and sushi.

Rod Hughes, head brewer describes the ale:  “Designed to use a simple malt profile and juicy flavourful hops that creates a balanced, hoppy, full flavoured and juicy IPA. The Double IPA is a beer with depth and unique hop flavours making it a perfect brew for sipping on cold autumn days.”
