Category 12 to Release Anomaly Bourbon Barrel-Aged Belgian Ale

unnamed (3).pngCategory 12 has announced that they have started shipping the second release from their barrelholder series: Anomaly.

Anomaly is described as being similar to a Belgian-style quad and has been aged in American oak bourbon barrels for 10 months, imbuing it a strong bourbon character and notes of dark fruit, sweet vanilla, and coffee.

I reserved my bottles a few weeks ago, so make sure to grab a couple before they disappear forever!

Anomaly – Barrelholder release #2

unnamed (1).pngYes, it’s that time!! Anomaly, the second release in our Barrelholder series, is here in time for the holidays! You may recall in February we travelled down to Washington pick up some freshly emptied bourbon barrels from Woodinville Whiskey, a craft distillery north of Seattle. Our head brewer, Michael, enjoyed a deliciously aromatic trip home as the barrels were about to embark upon their second life with us here at C12…

About the beer!

Anomaly is a delicious deviation from the norm, yet reminiscent of a Belgian Quadrupel. Aged in American Oak bourbon barrels for 10 months, an assertive bourbon character is tempered by notes of dark fruit, sweet vanilla, and coffee. Hints of candied sugar and clove peek through toasted malts in this lovingly blended barrelholder release.

Bottles are available in the brewery tap room (2200 Keating X Rd.) starting Wednesday, November 30th and hitting shelves at liquor stores throughout BC over the next couple weeks.
