Four Winds Brewing of Delta B.C., Canada has collaborated with Borg Brugghús of Reykjavík, Iceland to brew Boldberg – a foedre-aged Nordic Saison brewed with Arctic Thyme and aged with keremeos plums.
If you didn’t know, a foeder is a huge oak barrel that stands upright. They are commonly used in the wine industry, and some breweries use them to brew wild and sour beers.
The beer is available at the Four Winds tasting room now and will be shipping out to liquor stores in the next couple of weeks.
If you are going to the tasting room, be aware that they have holiday hours in effect (see below) and there is a four bottle limit.
