Driftwood Brewery in Victoria B.C. has announced the release of a new batch of their Naughty Hildegard ESB. Last seen in the spring of 2016 it sounds like they are planning to keep it available for longer this time. Hopefully they’ll add it to their regular line-up because very few breweries have an ESB as part of their core beers and this is a fantastic example of the style.
Here’s what they had to say:
NEW YEAR, NEW BEER!
Naughty Hildegard ESB is a forever favourite at DRIFTWOOD so we’ve decided to kick off 2017 with this cheeky gal and keep her around for a while. Find it in private liquor stores around BC starting TODAY! Hoppy Friday!
Naughty Hildegard ESB supports big flavours of guava, mango and citrus to deliver a juicy hop-malt balance that is deceptively easy to drink. A Pacific Northwest jam on a UK classic.
Brewed to honor Hildegard Von Bingen, a 12th century Benedictine Abbess, composer, and writer who is considered the founder of scientific natural history in Germany. Her treatise on medicine, “Physica Sacra,” contains the first recorded use of hops as a preservative in beer. This ESB is strong and generously hopped. For Hildegard.
