Bomber Brewing in East Vancouver have announced the release of a special limited version of their Choqulette Porter that has been aged for six months in Kentucky bourbon barrels.
I found out about this from a Bomber rep a few weeks ago and have to say I was pretty excited. I really like the original Choqulette Porter and the idea of adding bourbon, vanilla, and oak notes to it is something I would love to try!
BOMBER’S VALENTINE RELEASE WAS AGED WITH LOVE (AND KENTUCKY BOURBON)
BOURBON BARREL-AGED CHOQLETTE PORTER: After six months in Bardstown’s Heaven Hill Distillery bourbon barrels, our Choqlette Porter has transformed into a whole new beer. Vanilla and oak notes marry wonderfully with the Choqlette’s roasty, dark chocolate undertones and the time spent on wood has imparted a well-rounded silkiness to its mouthfeel.
Choqlette Porter was a love letter in a bottle from the brewer to his wife, so this evolution seems a most fitting Valentine.
