Axe & Barrel Brewpub Goes on Sale for $6 Million

Surprising local news, as it is looks like Axe & Barrel brewpub in Langford has been put on sale for $6 million.

Formerly known as the The Loghouse pub, the pub became the Axe & Barrel in 2016 after a $2.7 million renovation that included the addition of a 5,000 sqft state-of-the art brewhouse.

Last year they brought on Andrew Tessier, formerly of Swans, as their brewmaster and have been putting out some fantastic beers since then. Last I heard, they were looking at starting to bottle their beer this spring.

The Liquor Planet store, which is also owned by Ron Cheeke, has not been listed as part of the sale.

If the business changes hands, hopefully they don’t decide to get rid of the brewhouse or something silly.

In related news, does anyone want to lend me $6 million?
