Twin Sails Brewing really out did themselves this week, releasing three different beers!
First up is their Kool Kola double IPA, which was supposed to be released last week, but had to be delayed a week. This tasting-room only release was heavily dry hopped with Aussie and Kiwi hops like Galaxy, Motueka, and Summer. Ringing in at 8.2 %, it is said to have tropical fruit on the nose with candy and tropical fruit on the palate. Due to the low yields from the heavy dry hopping, this one is extremely limited and probably didn’t make it past the weekend.
Next up is batch #2 of their Juice Plus Citra IPA. The first batch was one of my favourite beers of 2016 and apparently this time they tweaked the malt profile and added even more hops. This is a hazy NE style IPA with a juicy mouth feel with big flavours of citrus and tropical fruits on the palate and nose.
Last but not least is their Street Legal IPA. This is their first full-time IPA and has been available on draft in the tasting room for some times now. They have now decided to can it and make it a regular releases alongside Dat Juice. They tweaked the recipe a little from the tasting room version, using Simcoe, Centennial and Columbus hops, with a big dose of Simcoe lupulin powder. They say this version is incredibly balanced with big peachy tropical fruit flavours and the right amount of dank.
