Steamworks to Release Umeboshi Sour as Second Beer in Illumination Series

Steamworks Brewing in Burnaby BC has announced the second release in its Illumination series, called Umeboshi Sour.

Umeboshi Sour is a new Japanese plum infused beer that starts with a clean malt base that is then kettle soured and fermented with over 500 pounds of sour plums, before finally being generously dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin hops.

The resulting beer pours a rose gold and is said to delight the senses with its distinct aroma, tart flavor, and satisfying finish.

Steamworks illumination series is made up of adventurous craft creations from the mind of award-winning brewmaster, Julia Hanlon. Specialized ingredients, cutting-edge brewing techniques and the spirit of invention have synergized to create a truly special series of beers.

This small batch sour will be available in very limited quantities at the Steamworks taproom and at select liquor stores across BC..
