Brassneck Brewery in Vancouver has announced the return of two winter seasonals for 2017: Spirit of DIXmas and Spirit Animal.
Both beers are available on draft or in tall cans at the brewery.
Spirit of Dixmas
Spirit of DIXmas is a special recreation of the original DIX brew pub IPA, brewed on the system that Brassneck acquired from them. The beer is brewed every December by former DIX brewmasters Derrick Franche and Tony Dewald.
It is described as being a little old school bitter blastin’ for your taste buds.
This strong, malty, barley wine is a barrel conditioned blend using two wild yeast strains during secondary fermentation:
- 25 % Brettanomyces Lambicus. (Brett “L”)
- 75% Brettanomyces Claussenii. (Brett “C”)
