Steel & Oak in New Westminster, BC has released a new beer in their “Brewers Series” called Khlib.
Khlib is a bread beer inspired by Kvass, which is an Eastern European non-alcoholic fermented bread drink. Khlib was fermented with a Belgian yeast strain and brewed with loaves of rye, buckwheat, and whole wheat sourdough bread from Solodko Ukraïnian bakery in New Westminster. It is said to have notes of toast, spice, and fruit.
Khlib will be available on March 26 at the S&O tasting room and will ship out to Metro Vancouver stores this week. Select stores on The Island and in the Interior will receive it shortly after.
