The line-up for the tent (all bar one) has now been announced and it looks set to be a fantastic time. You can expect to see me hanging out here quite a bit!

Aug 17: Hardy Brown Recipe Launch

Barley’s Homebrewing Supplies, Vancouver, BC; 19:00–22:00

This is a licensed tasting event (19+) and a unique opportunity for homebrewers to meet and greet with the Co-Founder and the Head Brewer of Moody Ales, Dan Helmer and Robyn Guille. They have graciously agreed to share the Hardy Brown Ale recipe! Ingredients will be on hand for those of you who want to brew this beer at home.

The event will be followed by a homebrew bottle swap so bring something that you’re excited to share!

Head on down with family( yes this is a family friendly event! ) and friends to Brother’s Park, and join in on the festivities! Bands, Dj’s, Food Vendors and a Beer Garden! Have a game of California Kick Ball, hang out in the bleachers listening to some good tunes, or tap into your inner child and hitch a ride on the hay wagon!

Parking available adjacent to Brothers Park, but we highly recommend using our Beer Farm Shuttle service, throw in a few bucks to the donation bin onboard for SCACL. (Route to be posted and sent out to attendee’s)

There is no ATM on site, so bring cash!
SCACL is providing a Pig Roast, Farm to Feast is teaming up with local caterer Perogies Galore, and our local Hot Dog cart will be arriving onsite shortly after 5pm!

Like all of our events that we do, this is a fundraiser for our local partner and non-profit SCACL ( Sunshine Coast Association for Community Living )

Aug 19: East of East Van Tap Takeover

Dageraad, Steamworks and Steel & Oak are combining forces for one heck of a tasty Tap Takeover.

Named after an amazing collab beer from Burnaby’s finest brewers, Steamworks and Dageraad, we present you with our latest tap takeover.

While everyone talks about all the great breweries in East Van, if you continue heading east, you’ll find Steamworks and Dageraad repping Burnaby, with Steel & Oak making the goods in New Westminster.

All three of these fine breweries will be taking over all our taps for this evening of good cheer, with some rarities and solid brews.

We’ll post the list once everything is confirmed. Our fingers are crossed for a couple of things to be ready in time for this event.

Aug 12: Galiano Wine & Beer Tasting Festival

Lion’s Field on Burrill Rd, Galiano, BC; 13:00–16:00

It is a fun event for a worthwhile cause – to raise money to cover operating costs of the Galiano Health Clinic. The festival takes place at the Lions Field, which is a pleasant 20 minute walk from the ferry and Sturdies Bay village.

Informal, fun and relaxing, the wine and beer tasting festival is an open air event that is a wonderful way to spend a summer afternoon with old and new friends. At $40 a ticket, it is great value. The price of the entrance fee includes unlimited tasting, a crested crystal wine glass, fresh-made finger food, a silent auction and entertainment.

Aug 12: Joyfest

Strange Fellows Brewing invites one and all to join us on Saturday, August 12th for a festive day of joyful revelry as we host our second annual JOYFEST, our biggest outdoor celebration of the year.

Celebrating 25 Years! The Great Canadian Beer Festival Returns to Victoria, BC September 8 & 9, 2017

Can you believe it’s almost time for The Great Canadian Beer Fest again? This year marks the 25th anniversary of the festival and it looks set to be one of the best years yet. I’m particularly looking forward to The Drake’s cask tent. I might be something of  a regular there.

Tickets go on sale Saturday July 22 at 9am. The GCBF is a not-for-profit society created to introduce consumers to new brews and raise awareness of craft brewing in the local community and beyond. The longest running, craft-only festival in Canada, GCBF first took place in 1993 at the Victoria Conference Centre with 2000 attendees. The event, now two days, takes place outdoors at Royal Athletic Park and hosts up to 9000 thirsty, craft beer fans. New this year – the Friday night session runs an hour later from 4 – 9pm to allow more folks to be able to head out after work and still attend the full evening. Sipping craft beer by sunset, talk about the perfect date night or way to unwind with your peers!

2017’s festival will host booths for 66 breweries and 2 cideries, featuring over 240 beers and ciders. Also, new this year is The Drake Eatery Cask Tent, introducing 8 additional breweries serving unique cask beer. Returning, is a variety of local food vendors offering both West Coast and ethnics flavours, and live entertainment featuring buskers, bands and more! Tickets will be available for sale here.

July 22: CAMRA Victoria – Port Angeles Brewery Crawl

Coho Ferry Terminal, Victoria, BC; 09:15–19:30

Join CAMRA Executive Members Malcolm Crerar and Cayla Stiles-Clark for a walking tour of Port Angeles’ Breweries and Brewpubs on Saturday, July 22. We well be catching the 10:30am ferry. Due to customs regulations, everyone will be required to arrive between  9:15-9:30 am. We will be returning on the 5:20 Ferry with an estimated arrival time in Victoria at 7pm (then plan for customs)

July 22: Four Winds Presents: Winded

Join us as we gather, run, drink and celebrate the lovely community we call home while helping families in need. Show up at 9am to get registered early, then we will depart at 10am on our 5km run into Centennial Beach, along the dyke to Beach Grove and finally back around to Earthwise Farms for Beer, BBQ, Music, and giveaways! Registration includes a WINDED water bottle, two Four Winds beers & BBQ from Newmans fine foods. WINDED Tee’s are extra and all proceeds go to Delta Assist.
